Hi! My name is Nicole Lindell, and I will be your science teacher this year. When I was an 8th grade student, my room was filled with space posters, I had a rock tumbler and an insect keeper, and I wrote letters to astronauts. Okay, I was sort of a nerd! My science teacher inspired me to be curious about the world and to think like a scientist. I have been an amateur astronomer for over 20 years. I graduated from Winona State University with an Earth & Space Science degree. My husband and I have a daughter, Elowen. We love to camp, hike, and spend time in nature. I am also an avid reader - I once read an awesome 13-book series over one summer, totaling around 11.000 pages (The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan). I collect rocks and minerals, and my favorite sample is from the KT Boundary - that's a layer in the rock record representing when the dinosaurs became extinct. That means it's 65 million years old! And if you REALLY want to see an old rock sample, ask me about the 4.6 billion year old meteorite I always carry with me.
